Odiogo - lets you type your podcasts.

Odiogo™ recently announced the launch of a brand new Web 2.0 application that enables bloggers to create new audio media in a snap. Blog entries are converted on the fly into podcastable audio files ready to download.

Sign up is free for bloggers. Their signup bait page promises:

Automatic podcast generation

“Near-human” quality text-to-speech

Drag-and-drop integration on your blog

Detailed download statistics

Make money from embedded ads

That last one sounds rather interesting - from a look at their site, it seems as though they are planning their own ad network for podcasters, not the existing ones, but the “converts” - those who convert their blogs into podcast

I don’t see much potential here, these guys don’t seem to get it at all. blogging is blogging and podcasting is podcasting. blogging is all about creating great quality written content and podcasting about creating spoken spoken content, not about robots reading what you write, but you talking about it. We’ll probably see these guys in Arrington’s deadpool very soon!
