“Our office was burglarized, some server stolen and some data lost” Says Andrew Nurcahya of Data Feed File -
a datafeed solution provider similar to GoldenCAN that helps affiliates easily integrate and update merchant product inventory on their websites.
At approximately 4:30am 1/22/07 Monday, Andrew received several text messages of multiple servers being down. He also received a phone call 10 minutes later from the alarm company.
“Once I arrived at the office I realized that we have been burglarized, some servers were taken (not all) along with many other things, because the burglars probably realized they only have a few minutes and it is difficult to remove servers from rackmount. Nevertheless we lost 6 servers within minutes which includes DFF main database server + DFF database log, file servers, search servers..” says Andrew
Since the burglary, DataFeedFile has put together a temporary server from spare parts, the backup file restored on it, however, is over 1 month old.
The Losses include:
-Template styles.
-All affiliate IDs settings / changes after 11/25/06.
-All support tickets.
-Merchant relationship after 11/25/06.
-URL schema settings.
The temporary server will be replaced with two brand new servers over the weekend and a downtime of approximately two hours is expected. Affiliates will be required to review and re-setup their Affiliate IDs and Merchant Relationships for DFF links to continue working on their sites.
