Swapthing.com announces an Affiliate ‘2.0′ program

SwapThing.com, an online community where users can barter goods they own instead of purchasing or selling for cash, recently announced an affiliate program specially built for and targeted towards web 2.0 savvy affiliates.

The way it works, the swapaffiliates program lets affiliates create what they call “SwapCircles” – groups dedicated to the swapping of goods and services around common interests. Users can swap, sell or buy items or services within a trusted circle of users. SwapCircles can be co-branded and affiliates have their choice of three customizable widgets to connect their users to the SwapCircle

From their website:

The SwapThing affiliate program, is a social network that can be implemented on any website, blog, or forum site that enables communications and swapping amongst members of a group. SwapAffiliates provides you with multiple revenue opportunities as the site owner: a commission earned on every successful swap completed within the circle, as well as a monthly commission for each SwapSubscription and SwapServices subscriptions that are purchased by members of the group.

The Swapthing marketing guys, it seems, must be mybloglog members since a long time, lots of inspiration coming from there. Very innovative and targeting the right market at the right time with what looks like a right product. Now I want to see such innovatiove affiliate 2.0 thinking from other older web 1.0 merchants!
