Dabbawallas and Customer Service

Seth Godin points out the secret of Bombay’s Dabbawallas..

How do the dabbawallas manage to be so accurate and popular for almost over a century?

“Simple: the dabbawallas know their customers. If they rotated the people around, it would never work. There’s trust, and along with the trust is responsibility. By creating a flat organization and building relationships, the system even survives monsoon season.” Says Godin

E-retail, IMO, needs the Dabbawalla Efficency when it comes delivery and customer relations, those who are getting this right, are already some the most successful e-businesses!

CJ Introduces RSS Feeds!

Just about a week after Linkshare started offering RSS to publishers, Commission Junction seems to to be shouting “me too!” with an announcement on the publisher’s member area.

CJ offering RSS feeds
According to CJ:

With the launch of our new Publisher Promotions RSS feed, keeping up-to-date with the latest hot advertiser promotions and strategic advice is easier than ever. All of the top offers included in the monthly What’s Hot newsletter and the Weekly What’s Hot Web page, as well as the strategic insight of the CJ Wire are now available through the convenient option of an RSS feed.

I just subscribed to the RSS feed, and as of right now, I am seeing one post in the feed which links to an archived copy of the “what’s hot” newsletter. Since the feature is just launched, I will refrain from any commentary, I do hope that CJ spam-proofs the feeds somehow.

Five Reasons why I blog

There’s a blog meme doing circles and Vlad recently tagged me to the meme, so here are my five reasons:

1 - To make sense of what is being called the “New Internet”, “Social media”, etc..

2 - To connect with people who already blog about this and learn from them.

3 - So that my staff can read my blog and understand why they are doing the things they do at work

4 - To have something to do when I don’t have anything else to do, hehe

5 - There is no number five. :)

The whole process of blogging is multi-layered - and includes constantly being informed on the subject of your blog, interacting with people (other bloggers, commenters, etc.) who know more than I do about a lot of things, expressing your thoughts regularly and being open to commentary on these thoughts. all this I think results in very interesting give and take of Ideas - the stuff that makes up human existence as we know it.
