I have to say that I thought it was a little pointess at first. However, it's definitely grown on me and I can see that it will be pretty useful.

Exactly, the transition may be slow, but I'm sure it will happen. Imagine a year from now, one may be texting a comparison shopping site for the prices for a product just seen at a store - and get an SMS with prices and offers on that product available online, AND within a one mile radius of your current location!

There's a lot of talk about this new feature from Amazon, and I have to say that I thought it was a little pointess at first. However, it's definitely grown on me and I can see that it will be pretty useful. Not so great for bricks and mortar shops though.
