Apple has just released bootcamp 1.2 with support for running Windows Vista on a mac!

The 138 MB download also contains many driver updates and the apple remote now works with iTunes and the Windows Media player - which is cool. Are they planning to introduce a media center like frontrow for windows in the future?

So if you wanted to try out Vista, and couldn’t because your version of vista legally didn’t let you do so with parallels virtualization, this is the download link.

I have my own open ID now!
, I’m using this blog as my open ID (which was actually/originally registered via myopenid.com). I think that it’s very cool that I can now use this blog’s URL as my one true login name and password.

In case you don’t yet know that open id is, head over to www.openid.net, where everything is explained in detail - but very basically, if you have an open id, and if you come across a website or online application that requires you to sign up in order to use it, but it also support open ID, you just provide your open ID URL, and your registration is done. no need to fill up another form, you can also login using the same openid URL every time you use it.

Clickz reported earlier today that ChannelAdvisor recently launched a new service called SearchAdvisor, that allows online advertisers to manage paid search campaigns on Yahoo!, Google, MSN, and Ask.com with a single interface.
Built with e-retailers in mind, searchadvisor has some very interesting features, some of which are:
Search Marketing Analytics
lets you keep a check on ROI of individual keywords by monitoring campaign performance by order, products sold or revenue generated.
Bulk Campaign Upload
Lets you submit your campaign to all supported search engines in one go.
Automated Bid Management
This one is cool - you can set rules to automatically manage your bids. For example, lowest ROI keywords can automatically go into the “spend very little on this” zone.
Landing Page Optimization
Track conversions and compare landing pages based on combined revenue, expense, conversion rates and ROI.

…and it’s not just via advertising. They’re planning to charge real cash for it. Google Apps for Your Domain is the set of apps that includes Gmail, Google Talk, Google Calendar, Google Page Creator, a start page, and eventually the word processing and spreadsheet apps from Google Docs - all branded and accessible via yourdomain.com. (I’m currently using this for free on the website for my creative and programming solutions company, ideasoutright.com - mainly for Gmail and Google talk)

The service is currently being offered free to businesses during Google Apps’ beta period, but will apparently go live with subscriptions “in the coming weeks,” according to BusinessWeek. How much Google will charge organizations for the service is still uncertain, but the fee will reportedly amount to “a few dollars per person per month.”
There is good news for me (and all those who got to use Google Apps during beta) though, the google apps website states “Organizations accepted by Google during the Google Apps for Your Domain beta period are eligible for free service for their approved beta users even beyond the end of the beta period, as described in the Terms of Service.”

Ottawa, Canada based ChoiceBot, Inc today announced the launch of a new product search and selection tool for online merchants.
“Early in our R&D efforts, we identified more than twenty major complaints that most consumers voiced concerning current product search and selection tools,” said ChoiceBot founder and CEO Nick Desbarats. “Everything from ‘Why can’t I say that I don’t like a feature without saying that it’s unacceptable?’ to ‘Even though all the feature data is there, there’s no way I can take it all into consideration when making a purchase decision.’ Based on this set of problems, we set out to design a fundamentally new type of product search and evaluation system –a system that thinks more like a person, and less like a database.”
ChoiceBot for e-Retail Sites enables consumers to express how happy or unhappy specific product features would make them (rather than simply what their minimum feature requirements are), using ChoiceBot’s product search interface. The company’s breakthrough ChoiceBot Ranking Engine then ranks products by how well they met the consumer’s overall needs, all things considered — including price. Regardless of how many search results were returned, the consumer need only focus on the top-ranked three or four products, knowing that they won’t find any better choices further down the list.
